If I could be anything I want when I grow up I'd be a rockstar. One of those greasy, leather'n'chains, metal studs everywhere. Drugs, sex, and rock'n'roll all the way until the day I die...
In real life I'm a nanny and a full-time student. I've spent around 22 years on this earth and I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. I began drawing when I was a very young child but took an extended break from it during my adolescence.
I am very much out of practice but have picked up where I left off almost 5 years ago. I've joined dA with the hope of getting feedback from the community here. I'd love to hear tips, compliments, criticism, and complaints. I am very interested in art trades/collaborations.
I generally work in pen or pencil and I really enjoy mixed media. I would love to learn how to paint. I also dabble in knitting, sewing, beading, and jewelry-making with an interest in photography and film. I dig recycling and farmers markets and music saves my soul.
My first goal here is to network with other artists. So please feel free to comment, message, watch, friend, or contact me in any way and I will return the favor as soon as I can. My second goal is to find the inspiration to keep my love of drawing flourishing and evolving so any and all encouragement and support is greatly appreciated. Lastly I want to work on broadening and improving my skills so again, all advice is welcome. :)

I remember the days when I used to wander through the wilderness as just another part of the chaos. I remember the feel of the dirt beneath my feet and the air breathed into me directly from the leaves. I remember time being slower and faster and non-existent. I remember the sight, sound, smell of water washing all the worries, grime, and despair I had ever encountered away. And I remember the feeling of being part of something far greater than I. Well, apparently my car is about as fine as a car with 250,XXX miles on it could realistically be. Aside from a few minor problems it's good to go. No one knows why it wouldn't start that day and, of course, I cant help but think too much into it. Was it fate? A lesson I needed to learn? Some higher workings trying to tell me something?
Truth is. It kind of was. I live in a city with an excellent public transportation system and I don't really need a car. I know this. I know I can get anywhere I need to go without a car. So why do I have a car? Because I WANT one- not that there is anything wrong with wanting- but I want a lot of things even

I put up three sketches. They are nothing special but about all I have access to right now. Devientart has changed so much since I was here five years ago. Today my car broke down. I had to walk a few miles (16 long city blocks) which wouldn't have been a problem except I had gone straight from the gym to the grocery store so I had clothes, groceries, AND school
